Sew DIY Lou Box Top (Tester version)

The Sew DIY Lou Box Top was recently re-released in an expanded size range (0 – 32!!!! YES!!!). As part of the re-launch, Beth from Sew DIY did a quick round of testing which I was part of.

The author sitting on a bus facing away from the camera wearing a red patterned top.

I made the scoop neck version with the curved hem, using some rayon from Blackbird Fabrics which was the perfect weight and drape for this top.

The construction was straightforward and the top is easy to wear. I think Beth might have reduced the neck scoop a little in the final version, though I don’t mind this on a casual summer top.

All the deets:

Pattern: Sew DIY Lou Box Top

Size: 20

Adjustments:

  • 1″ length

Fabric used: Grey/blue crepe (I think from remnant warehouse?)

Like it?  Wearing it?  Yes and Yes

Notes for next time:

  • Check final version for neckline adjustment if wanted
  • Consider sizing down – it’s pretty full, especially if heavier fabric choice
